Hi,

I'm about to venture into your world with my first road bike even though everyone's telling me it's the wrong time!, but before the bike must come somewhere to store it. The ASGARD sheds are the clear favourite at the moment so my question is

Has anyone (or know anyone who's) had a bike stolen from an ASGARD Bike Shed?

Never heard of them. Buy a normal shed, fit a anchor point. Invest in a solid secure gold lock and a cable lock. Put a proper lock on the door and possibly a shed alarm

They look ok (though not pretty - my wife wouldn't go for it). Not much more expensive than a decent wooden shed and much more secure. I would have put a decent lock on the door of my wooden shed but it would be too easy to just push the windows in.

I've got the 4 bike unit with the super-cool hydraulic lid. I love mine and everyone who has seen it has been impressed. Enough space for 4 bikes and some accessories (helmet, spares, wheels, turbo trainer, some garden tools). No water ingress and very, very, very secure; you'd need loud tools and a lot of patience to get in.

Also a decent, friendly company to deal with.

Mine's spot on too (original thread when I was prospecting for storage).

I eventually went for the Addition three bike one (on the basis that the daughter wouldn't be able to lift the lid of the 4 bike one) and it's excellent. Arrived as a flat-pack with all the bits and bobs, kindly carried down our cul-de-sac by the delivery guys and with a hand from the brother-in-law (well, actually, he did all the hard work) it was assembled within a couple of hours (it was wet and windy and his electric screwdriver needed a charge part-way through so would probably be quicker on a clear day with fully charged kit ;) ).

The build is excellent - every hole lined up as it should (and there are no external bits to attack as it's built from the inside out) - and the thickness of the panels, quality and finish are all great. (I also bought an accessory pack - which can be hard to find on the site, so here's a link to Addition bundles: http://www.asgardsss.co.uk/search_results.php?level=addition&cat_id=all)

Not cheap, but much more solid than a wooden shed and whilst at first it seemed to dominate our small front yard, we've grown used to it and it was well worth the investment.

Tip: The Addition bike shed is exactly the same as the Addition garden shed which, oddly, is sold slightly cheaper.

Cheers,
Shaun
