This week is very packed for me.

Tue - College this afternoon and then out with the club in the evening.
Wed - College trip to Angelsey (look at bridges and Paris Mountain). Then squash a few miles in in the evening.
Thurs - Get train to Ludlow in the morning and then work through the day shovelling soil.
Fri - Finish moving 1 tonne of soil up a hill and then get train home. Might be too tired to get any level of cycling in.

Have you ever had a week like this where you wanted to cycle but physically couldnt fit it in?

yes,
it can be a right pain sometimes when the real world gets in the way of cycling.

Anyway Mathew, it's your lucky day.. have a bar of chocolate on me.. be quick before they're gone

Every week I have this challenge - trying to contrive a scenic route commute to the station at 6a.m. to get in some miles and or factoring in a run/spin in the gym at 0630 before having to get the train to London and/or getting out early on a Sat or Sun before running the children to dancing, football, parties etc. Some weeks it gets too much and having to clock watch too much detracts from any enjoyment. However, 99.9% of time I'm always glad that I made the effort to get up and out for a weekend ride, however constrained the time is.

I thought this was going to be traffic related!
Sometimes when I leave work I can see the RAB that leads out is backed right up, bringing out a "Oh FFS" response lol

and if you are like me and only cycle in daylight, it doesn't leave you much time when it is dark at 4.30 and sometimes earlier if the weather is really dull. I managed to do 20 miles today though and no ideas when the next time is going to be due to having to work as well. It is a real pain I tell you ( I mean having to work!)

Ah, that would be where you are going wrong.... some tidy lights, front and rear (minimum of two at each end) and the world, as they say, becomes your crassostrea gigas.

The dark is where it is at, night time is the new black. and the old black too.

That post reminds me of when I did a tour of schools doing a project about reducing the carbon footprint and energy bills of the school and one of the groups did a play where the dad (who seemed to be related to Mister Chumly-Warner) was lecturing another dad and it ended with:

"And of-course, I only read during hours of daylight, thereby reducing my reliance on the common lightbulb, Eddie!"
