If you can afford it, get some proper cycling winter boots. I was skeptical of them but bought some earlier this year on the recommendation of a friend. One of the best purchases I have made for my cycling. Very warm and dry and much much better than overshoes.

In between here and there
Not sure it would cure it but my feet really improved with two thermal socks and winter boots. I got the Northwave Celcius and they are in to the second winter, a bonus is that they are very reflective.

Brilliant boots - bonus too that they are easy to clean.

Very heavy though, not very waterproof and no warmer than shoes (a size up to allow thick socks) with good thick neoprene overshoes IME.

1. Very heavy though,2. not very waterproof and 3. no warmer than shoes (a size up to allow thick socks) with good thick neoprene overshoes IME.

1. Not in my experience, no (carbon soled)

2. very waterproof-just have to remember to keep tops of socks from the top and any longs over the top.

3. Definitely warmer than shoes with overshoes.

Perhaps you bought a dud pair.

So you wear them with waterproof overtrousers? Not something I would ever do. Still I don't remember it saying on the box 'waterproof (but only if you wear them with waterproof overtrousers)'!

They're warmer than my normal summer shoes if I try to fit a fat pair of socks in them, but not warmer than a size up pair of shoes with good socks and overshoes.
