Hi and welcome. another newbie here so my suggestions maybe of less use, however when I was in my teens I was ill for a year and did little to no exercise at all.
although I was able to get back into everything fairly quickly I found it easier to go for short circuits multiple times or 2 or 3 different circuits one after another.
nothing is more disheartening than being stuck 3 miles from home because you are half way through your planned route and run out of energy.
Instead I used to do 1000m laps near where I lived on cycle paths. Although it can be a bit repetitive and you have to make sure you don't cheat yourself by stopping just because your a bit tired it also gives you a quicker feeling of progression. (yesterday I did 2 laps, today I did 3 as an example) Also when you are tired or you have a mechanical breakdown, 500m isnt too far to walk the bike home.
If you like rambling it might be you enjoy the social aspect of exercising so maybe go out with a friend one or twice a week too.
