Went to a bike shop near me who are doin the bike fitting service from body geometry fit (specialized) £120 for 2.5hrs set up. Wondering if anyone has done this and recommends??
Cheers
I got one of these about 1.5 years ago, but it was thrown in free because it was part of my Specialized bike purchase . I can't say for certain whether it really helped, but I learned some useful tips about bike fit, which I can then apply myself for future bike purchases. Of course, all this information is available (somewhere) online, but at least with the fitting session, you can make several minor adjustments on the spot and immediately test how it feels.
I have had three Retul fits and five BG Fits.
The quality of either fit depends greatly on the standard set by the engineer carrying out the fit.
I personally prefer the BG Fit to the Retul but both have value.
I most certainly place value on a BG Fit although you have to consider what your going to say if the bar width requires changing, or the stem requires changing, or you require footbeds.. The price stated is not fully inclusive.
You must be aware though that it on gives you a good fit at that specific point in time. Since my last fit I have become more flexible a stronger, as such on my most recent bike the suggestions offered have evolved from my previous fit.
I however do not pay a fee for my BG bike fit
whats the difference between different companies that do it, as theres a shop near me that charge £50 and ten body fit is £120 and another company £175???
Probably the equipment used, whether a special fitting jog or your own bike on a turbo, length of time to do the fit, expertise of fitter, whether things like cleat fitting included or extra, profit margin...
