With track pumps, how are you supposed to carry them around when on a ride? Does it attach to ye' frame?

Lidl are doing an aluminium barrel track pump with gauge for about a fiver at the moment.
Has anyone tried one of these and are they any good?

Found an old track pump in my outlaws garage and have been using that but it is only plastic, has no gauge and it always feels like it's about to break.

You don't.

The track pump stays in the garage for easy inflation/pressure taking.

A mini-pump or frame pump (depending on how hard you're prepared to work to get pressure) goes with you on rides. Topeak's "Morph" pumps blur the line slightly by having fold out bits that let you use them in a track pump like way, but are (imo) still no substitute for the real thing.

Got one last time around - ok, but the valve head started to leak on mine after half a year or so. Someone else (possibly on here) had one fail in such a way that it propelled the top bit of the pump past his head at high speed.

I've got an Aldi one for the MTB - yup the top came off but a bit of PTFE tape sorted that. OK for doing an MTB tyre though - hard work.

For the road bikes I have a steel Silca track pump...oh 20 odd years vintage..brilliant....

After my Aldi track pump fell to peices, I got a Blackburn Airtower Two from the LBS. I nearly did a sex-pee on first using it. Unbelievably good, easy to use, no leakages, no issues.

I've got a Zefal HPX. Well built, gets to 100psi effortlessly. Haven't tried it any higher as taht's the limit on my marathons.

I've just bought a Lezyne floor pump after my Lidl one exploded (it appears to have been glued together). Wish I'd spent the money years ago - just a dream to use.

Ditto - excellent kit - all metal and brass (yes I know it's a metal too, shut-UP!) absolutely top quality kit, a real once-in-a-lifetime-job-done item.

Yes mini-pumps are a bit rubbish aren't they - awkward to use and can't get enough pressure in my tyres with mine, small and lightweight though so I take it along on my commute and use a cheap conventional plastic Zefal pump at home.
