It's a pity there's no "Dislike" button.No. Why look like a Volvo twat?

Sorry. My post was a result of the recent "Bicycle Bellend" cartoon in the April copy of Viz combined with a few drinks in the company of fellow CC parishioners this evening. Displaying daylight running lights down Oxford Street on the way to the little celebration really would have made no difference to the exciting slalom between buses, taxis, and kamikaze kerb-leaping shoppers. It's a pity there's no "Dislike" button.
Lights on flashing. Anything to get their attention
thats the default position on my commuter. i am not posh or rich enough to have a winter commuter and a summer commuter. My winter commuter has a dynamo and the lights look after themselves. This seems to involve being on full time.
Oi!No. Why look like a Volvo twat?
Now I'm assuming that this is posted with your tongue firmly in your cheek, but, think about it for a minute how far are you going to go? How far are you going to let yourself be forced to go by drivers that not only seem to no longer bear any responsibility for having to look properly when it's dark but it would appear in some peoples minds have a decreasing amount of responsibility to look properly in broad daylight. So, how long before you do start wearing your peacock feathers?ride naked with your naughty bits painted day-glo orange and wearing a peacock feather hat?
or dressed as a Roman Centurion.
that'd grab their attention![]()

I do that, plus low sun from behind me. I have lights permanently on my road bike but it's rare I use them. After a period of empirical experimentation I found it made no difference to people pulling out on me. If they don't see you, they don't see you. They do though, certainly hear me when they do it.Often put lights on during the daytime if it's raining or a bit dull.![]()
