Hi I dont normally do any forums but I felt that I could answer a lot of questions you may have about Partington cycles. As I worked there from 1989 until it was taken over in 1995 when it became bike and bits cycle shop. That only lasted 2 years then was sold and became a newsagent. It had been a bike shop since 1934 when it was opened by Joe Partington (Derek's father) . Sadly now it has been knocked down only a couple of years ago and is now the Bolton bus station. Although the shop has gone I like to think that the Joe and Deark Spirit still lives on through me who became a very successful mechanic who has done many international events for riders such as Bradley Wiggins, Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Matk Cavendish & Jason& Laura Kenny. I hope this helps and if I can answer any questions you have on what we sold I will try my best to answer although it was a while ago. 😀
