Annoying wee blighter - brought home from the lido, I assume. Anyway, I've been doing the Bazuka thing for about a week, and it looks like this, which doesn't tally with the kinds of photos you tend to get on the net, which tend to be more extreme and inyerface...

The instructions say to peel/scrape off any white material, then re-apply. I've been doing that, but I've now got to the point where scraping actually hurts, and though there's a hard patch, it doesn't really feel like there's anything lurking underneath. So, anyone been there done that and knows whether I should carry on with the Bazuka or give it a rest? Any advice/recommendations much appreciated.

Had them as a kid. Used to have to go to the chiropodist. That was agony - something applied one week then him digging away at it the next. And bathing with your foot in a plastic bag because you weren't allowed to get it wet.

When I had one - I think - as an adult I just ignored it. It didn't hurt and wasn't causing anyone any bother. I wasn't going through that pain again.

Snap - only known such agony once since and that was an ingrowing toenail not a verruca.

I had one nearly 40 years ago, and the doctor gave me a prescription for Salactol. You put it on, wait for the tissue to die, peel it off, then repeat as necessary. I don't recall any pain, are you getting impatient and peeling it off before it's dead? (I think there was a bit of pain that made me notice it in the first place, but the treatment didn't cause any more.)

Between 1984 and ~1990 I used to be down the pool up to five times a week, but that was the only one I ever had.

I remember saying "presumably I have to stay away from the pool", and he said "no, that's an old wives tale....but don't tell them".
