going to be getting some gerbils at the end of the month, anyone else got some ??? I'm after some general do's and don'ts

and some piccies would be nice :becool:

were going to get them last weekend, but apparently it's now the thing to keep them in a "gerbilarium", which is basically a fish tank with a cage on top, so going to have to wait till pay day

We had a couple of them for my eldest, they are great and pretty easy to look after.. some Do's and Don'ts

Do

- Pick them up as much as possible then they will jump on your hands when you open the tank
- Clean the tank weekly
- give them plenty of exercise
- give them things to tunnel in (hamster cages with all the tubes are great for them)

Dont

- Pick them up by tails
- Keep male and female together
- Let them loose on the floor

Ever heard of felching?

eeew...just looked it up... I'd heard the word, obviously, but being an innocent kind of chap I hadn't a clue what it meant. Mind you, the definition I saw did not mention small furry animals.

No its kind of a dual meaning... can mean erm one thing that is a little wrong... then it can also include tubes and small animals which is even more wrong!

Again, unless your Ricardo Gere!

I knew somebody would know.
And I knew who that somebody would be.

had them once but got some ointment from the doctors...

just kidding they are best kept in a tank with a good depth of light sand soil, they just love to dig, entertaining and fast so don't let them loose in the house.

:ohmy::ohmy::ohmy:

May I add I have already answered the question! May have a caring for Gerbils book knocking around if you want one? Not a mention of felching!
