The trousers are great - I've bought a pair each of the last 3 years - and actually could still be wearing the old ones - especially last years.

Bit disappointed by the gloves and jackets this year though - my ones from last year are nicer. And the sizing is different - my L last year fits great but the one I grabbed this morning is a bit snug. I'll need to try it on with the rest of my gear but I might be looking to sell it on - for the £15 plus postage. It's the plain black one.

...well I have just done my first 35km in th ewinter jacket and gloves and a pretty strong cold north easterly wind. I had a simple nike cycle t shirt and some specialised arm warmers on under the jacket. I would report that the jacket does what it says on the tin, it was warm but not to sweaty. The gloves were also warm but not to sweaty.

I was however thankful for my arm warmers because imho the gloves could do with a longer cuff. The gap between the jacket sleeve and the glove cuff was filled by the arm warmer...on a freezing wet day this might become a small issue.

Had to work unfortunately and the nearest Aldi is 5 miles away so I couldn't go at lunch time and I'm going to annual dinner, so can't go afterwork. So I sent my mother though to her local one its only about 3mile from her work and she's in a car. She went during her lunch hour, it was a bit of a bombsite ;)but I think she managed to get a few things for me.

well, the Shirley one still had lots of stock in at 1pm. i only bought the blue rain jacket, i wanted the overshoes but i don't think they had them in, couldn't find them, and couldn't find a shop assistant either! but the jacket's a nice fit.

Hi Buggi, do you mean Shirley, West Midlands? If so, they had plenty of overshoes when I went in this morning. They were by the wall mounted cycle holder and mixed in with the socks.

xx( The Aldi sizing is crazy, my good lady has just brought me a large rainproof jacket, it's massive and I've a 44" chest. Got some pants, gloves, a couple of chains as well, all cracking value.
I went to the Bradford store at 9.15 and it was full of chavgit families bulking up on all the cycling gear for Ebay:angry: I gave up and asked my wife to call in at Shipley on her way to work and that store was very quiet.

Shipley's got an Aldi? I thought it was a posh area, but then I did live in Little Horton when I was over there. Anyone bought any Aldi lights? I might get some if they are any good.

Got the waterproof jacket and trousers - 6.30pm from the second store in Stockport area. The first one just had winter jackets and socks...

The Aldi in Wishaw was quiet this morning at just after 9 this morning, when i nipped out of the office.

I got a winter jacket in blue and picked up bib trosers in both XL and L as i wasn't sure what size would fit. Unfortunately the XL was both incorrectly labelled and coat hangered. they were in fact medium. Unfortunately i didn't discover this until trying them on when i got home and had fed the kids.

When i went back round at 7pm, there was a scrum in progress. Unfortunately there were only medium and small sizes left in the winter clothes, although they had plent y of waterproof gear left, in all sizes.

I'm certain my exchange items (i swapped for a pair of waterproof trousers) wouldn't ever make it back to the rack as i thought i might be mugged for them.

there weren't any lights, and i overheard someone being told they were all recalled, although i suppose this may just have been from my local store

got a couple of tops,a windproof jacket, pair of gloves and the hat/overshoes.Tried the tops and gloves on in the shop so I new they would fit. Seems good enough gear to me.For £34 I'll not be complaining anyway. Didn't bother with the bottoms as I didn't think it very appropriate to drop my trousers in store to try them on:blush:

Didn't see any lights but I wasn't too impressed with the tights!
They weren't of the bib variety so I decided against them. I did get a lock and some socks. The only things left in any real numbers in Rutherglen were socks, locks and gloves.

The "official" word re lights and glasses were they had been recalled. I asked if that was from all stores and was informed "Yes".

Anyway, the L trousers I bought appear to have been designed for Ernie Wise.
