Are the £5 track pumps usable? I did a quick search and all I could find were stories about them exploding!
I bought one a couple of years ago and the valve piece broke after about 3 goes. You pay your money and take the risk.

Oops sorry was me duplicating, this thread didn't appear on my search

Bought lots of summer goodies, Gilet, Shirts, Socks and Shorts... Winter kit wore very well, so please with my spend!

Bought the gloves, which seem ok. The ends of the (fingerless) fingers could be finished off a bit better, but you can't complain for £3.50! They were nice and comfy on the way home and reduce road buzz better than my much more expensive winter gloves. Doubt they'll last as long though.

Shame the sizes on clothing are generous - I was amazed to see a small mens gillet in stock as I normally only see L/XL stuff. Tried it on and it was about the same size as a medium. No clothing for me then!

A friend bought a Lidl track pump last sale (although it may have been £7.50 then, can't remember) and it's still working fine. It appears to be exactly the same as the one they're selling at the moment, just a different colour. It's nothing special and struggles to get up to the higher road bike pressures, but should last if you're gentle with it.

BE WARNED PEOPLE...Not all the Lidl's have the bike gear in!

After reading this thread I dashed down to the one in Ealing on my lunch break 5 miles away only to find... well... nothing of real interest.

I felt like a bit of a plum walking in, then straight back out, so I bought two jars of low-quality jam, and a bar of chocolate that looked suspiciously like a twix.

I'd like to say it wasn't a wasted trip but.........

Go on, tilt your head!
Went to the Fareham store at 8am this morning. I got socks, gloves, glasses, jersey, gilet, jacket and some base layer tops. Pleased with it all but the jacket is possibly a little short in the arm.

Got a red short sleeve jersey. Looks good for the money(6.99) ,just need some warmer weather now to give it some use.

Track pumps looked good but after a few cheap track pump failures I have decided to lash out on a quality one this time, probably Park tools or Leyzene.
