I always used to buy a Tour de France magazine every year, but I haven't bothered for the last couple of races. The stage guides and rider lists are online (and the latter isn't finalised until after the mags go to press), the articles haven't been that interesting and the freebies seem to have stopped.

Anyone bought one for this year's race that they'd recommend?

i bought the official tour programme yesterday ,comes with planner to fill in each day a small book with extracts from several other books, a dvd highlights of last years tour(running time 1hr 20mins) and a tour map .when i got to the till in W.H.SMITHS they gave me a free drinks bottle for the bike , from wiggle with 2 energy gels and 3 energy drink mixes (high 5). dont know if you get this anywhere or just wh smiths . anyway well worth a tenner i thought:thumbsup:

I hope to pick up my copy on Friday from WH Smith in Dundee.
I did have the official mags from the past x number of years until Mrs N decided we should have a clean-up and I decided to throw them out. I regret doing it now. So, this years one will be the start of another collection of them which will not be getting chucked...

Got my mag today, no water bottle or gels (wouldnae have used them anyway!), but they only charged me £6.99 despite it stating £9.99 on the packaging - the woman who served me just shrugged...

I decided to go for this week's Cycling Weekly. It's got a pocket guide covering all the TdF stages and a few interesting looking articles, and it's only £2.99.
