Any roadies here ride MTBs?

Have and had my roadie first and got my first MTD two years ago after coming off my hybrid on ice.
Currently using the MTB as roadie is getting rebuilt but I am especially enjoying even the cummute as it's great to fling around, especially in the crappy weather and when you relaise (I did last night) that the tyre pressure is only at 25lb and bring it up to 55lb for a much smoother commute.
No real off-road as yet this year though.
Did last year in Hamsterley Forest - exhilarating and scary....like being a kid again.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
No, never have. S'pose I am of the pre MTB generation. If we wanted to go off road, we just cycled off road. I still cycle along canal paths and unpaved cycle tracks on a road bike. Why buy a tractor when you want a sports car? ;)

I came into cycling through mountain biking and it is still my main love. But these days most of my miles are on the road as they are commuting! I think it is why cycling has lasted as a hobby though as if I am bored of off-road miles I ride my road bike, bored of both there is cyclo-cross.

I started out with an MTB (hardtail). It's been adapted in to turbo trainer/rollers mode for the past few years, so hasn't ventured outdoors for a while.
I think it's time I reinstalled the sus-forks and knobbly tyres and take it round the woods. But then I'd have to clean all the mud off when I get back!

Hard core roadie, but all the lads in the club all bought MTBs at the same time. Pre suspension, but we had a right laugh in the off season. Should have seen the faces at the usual club meeting point when one group of roadies appear on MTBs.

Done Snowden on it, and still use it regular now.
