The Weinmann brakes on which the words "WEINMANN" and the model number "TYPE 730" (or whatever) are placed in little rectangles, as you have, are the latest model. Earlier ones have bigger letters without the rectangle. This confirms the 1978 date in my opinion. It looks like a Raleigh made frame; so the frame number should correspond with the Raleigh system, which is... confusing at best. yes, got a little bit of history to go with it now, have also discovered it was purchased from a lbs as the sticker is still on.
