Any ideas for raising a rear light ABOVE level of panniers

I was in Copenhagen over the weekend and saw that many bikes (including road bikes) had these usefully-placed lights:

Could you not have this kind of light at the back of your rack/panniers?

i like the idea of the hub mounted lights although i would want to ensure the mounting bracket was sturdy enough to prevent the light getting accidently knocked into the spokes

i.e. it can't be seatpost-mounted, as saddlebag is in way (I want to keep it there).
I'm 'between lights' (lost my fave/best, looking at new ones) so have been bodging together a Smart light and a Blackburn bracket (kind of it will do for a bit till I get sorted with new lights).
HOWEVER, given position of panniers (position adjustable, but not much), if I fit light to rear of rack, the light can't be clearly seen from the side, as it's actually below the top of the panniers, and recessed between panniers, if you see what I mean) (except if dark, you'd see the glow, obv). It's been this way for a while, but now nights are getting darker, I'd like to change it. SO, I want to raise whichever light I get ABOVE the level of the rack/pannier. Been trying various bodges this evening, with no joy, really.
Advice welcome :okay::smile:
I have a similar problem. I've got some waterproof red fairy lights which are wound around my pannier rack and accross above the mudguard if you catch my drift. Very effective, but not British Standard lighting obvs, so use standard lights also.

I'll give that a bash nearer Christmas :smile:

Thank you all for your suggestions.... ordered the Passport rack bracket, got some new lights, and now sorted... now to sort out out the front end.... bar bag/light conundrum :smile:

The hub lights are magnetically powered. You can see the bar that provides the power as it passes the light

Fit them on a rack and this cannot happen making them useless

I've never seen it before but that's one of those ideas that's so simple you wonder why you didn't think of it yourself. No faffing with a separate dynamo, just strap the magnets to the wheel!
