Brandane, didn't know you stayed in Largs. I stay in Gourock and have been up Loch Thom loads of times in the car and went up there two weeknds ago on the bike. I have found the cloch road down to wemyss bay ok. I will def be going the old droad down to Largs hopefully very soon.
I am not sure about cycling on the main road to Largs, a lot of people speed on the road, which at times is quite narrow.

Give us a shout if you're coming down this way then; maybe join you for part of the ride? As long as you're not a speed freak , these "middle aged" legs will only go so fast!

Same applies to E11a, or any other local-ish members who find themselves around these parts.

I've mapped a couple of loops in the East end on mapmyride if you want to have a look at them. From 15-26 miles so nothing too long, or with too many hills! The two 'parks' routes include going out towards Gartcosh and from there down to Drumpellier Loch which involves a bit of cycling on roads with cars going fast, but that's about it. The longest route goes along the River Clyde one way and back along by the Forth & Clyde canal:

East End parks loop

East End parks loop 2

Waterways loop

Guys.

If you are looking for routes in the Strathclyde area & further afield, I am adding a lot of routes (old and the ones I will do now) at this place in the coming days, weeks, months and years.

I am out and about quite regular, but hardly not on this forum at all. This may be my first login of the year. Feel free to email me your response or any questions.
