Bikester have got my order wrong. Order a few things including thru axles. They sent a Cube Carbon Frame Protector for a downtube.
How could anyone mistake that for a thru axle?

But you still legally have to pay that VAT - if it has not been levied at source, then UK customs will be likely to impose it before you receive the goods. That makes it rather less of a bargain, doesn't it?

Except that UK customs are so overloaded a lot of stuff gets through without duty and VAT. It’s shifted to unlikely these days, unless obvious bulky high value goods. A few compact bike parts is likely to come through untouched.

I don't find British customs to be strict at the best of times. Swiss customs on the other hand. I sent my 10 year old nephew a birthday card and Swiss customs opened it. It didn't even contain any money!
