Any Cyclists from Salisbury

New to cycling and just got my 1st road bike.

No but my family are from Salisbury so I've done some cycling around there. Can't help you much though as it was all MTBing on the drove roads. Going west from Salisbury there are some lovely valleys with quiet lanes criss-crossing the busy main roads.

I grew up in Salisbury but have only done minimal cycling around there as got into cycling when moved to London. Recently did a day ride from Sutton Waldron to Salisbury along the Chalke Valley. Very pretty (but hilly - at least the first bit was).

Whenever I go back to Salisbury I don't see many cyclists. And they have lots of strange cycle lanes which are on the path and then end suddenly.

There's a good bike shop in Fisherton Street isn't there? Stonehenge Cycles? They might be able to help and they've probably got an MTB club and a road gang going out every week.

I'm from Salisbury (well, Durrington) but currently exiled to Yorkshire. Try heading north via the Woodford Valley - it's gorgeous up that way.
