Itching to get back on my bike's
Location
Northamptonshire
A friend of mine recently acquired a very good condition (ie like new) 2014 Cube Peleton with 10 speed 105 gearing for the princely sum of £250. However he had to be very patient and monitor fleabay like a hawk and then had to travel to pick it up, but it shows that the bargains are out there!

they certainly are and gumtree is good as well @davros123

where are you based ?

I'm near swaffham in Norfolk. I went to my local shop today, very friendly and knowledgeable but nothing really caught my eye. They had a lot of cannondale and giant and although they seem like lovely bikes, the spec didn't seem to be up to the likes of Mango and Planet X offerings.

I just wonder how much of the big manufacturers rrp goes on components and how much on marketing..... am I missing something here?

At the budget end of the market, the Giant and Cannondale bikes are all about the stickers on the frames. Direct sell places like Planet X et. al. put better components on the bikes of a similar type / price point, but far too many people can't see past the stickers on the Giant / Cannondales and the like.
