Annoying tinckling sounds from rear wheel?!

Going into retirement disgracefully!
I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions to cure the above problem.
I have a DTSwiss R20 wheel set and when I put weight on the crank/pedals the rear wheel makes a tinckly noise similar to that if you have loose spokes, especially prevalent when climbing. When I freewheel, the noise stops, so I don't think the spokes are the problem. I had the local bike shop check out the rear wheel spoke tension and said all was fine. They did say they were lightweight wheels and suggested that maybe I should buy more robust wheels. (I'm only about 75kg btw).
Any advice gratefully received.
Many thanks.

Noises on one part of a bike can sound like they are coming from somewhere different.

For about 6 months my bottom bracket sounded like it was ticking under load. Numerous changes and cleaning could not cure it.

Turned out it was a faulty pawl in the freehub. The triangular shape of a frame means noises travel all over.

First thing to do us make sure it is the wheel making the sound. To be certain you need to put a different wheel in the back and see if the noise is still there.

If so you know it is not the wheel. If it is no longer making a noise start looking at the hub, seals, quick release etc.

Wot Velochris says, take a look at your freehub, I had similar noises recently and as I couldn't fully diagnose it I just got along with it ... then one day the freehub went completely and I ended up stranded miles from home.

As discussed on a recent thread, zip ties or toe straps wrapped round the spokes and cassette will turn it into a fixie and get you home.

I had a back part of a spoke nipple rattling around for a while. It was seemingly quite mercurial, not behaving in a predictable manner, and seemingly having had no effect on the spoke...

What's the "back part of a spoke nipple"?

The nipple has a bit that wraps around the spoke, and a bit that holds the rim.

In my case the inside bit had split and a fragment fell off. I couldn't find the offending spoke, and everything worked, so perhaps a bit that broke prior.

As other posters have said - it could be unrelated to wheels, derailleur, pedals, anything really, but I call BS on this:
They did say they were lightweight wheels and suggested that maybe I should buy more robust wheels. (I'm only about 75kg btw).
What are they trying to sell you instead?

Thanks very much for the advice and changing the wheel is something I was going to try. Cheers
