I tuck my trousers into my socks, and enjoy the draftless feel so much I often 'forget' to untuck when I get home!!!

I use them to secure a rack bag to the seat post, hold the folded bike together a bit more securely and yes, an occasion to secure wayward trouser leg.

This is what I use:

At £3 it's much cheaper than the other one you posted. I have four: at the bottom of my legs and on my wrists (so my arm signals are visible in the dark to drivers behind me)
