Hi all

When it's cold I wear craghopper kiwi trousers. They have a nice fleecy lining. Being walking trousers, they are obviously a bit loose on the ankle. I was thinking of sewing some velcro into the legs so I could tighten them, but thought I might want to wear them as actual walking trousers some time.

So what I need are ankle straps. I've got a couple of the "slap band" ones but they're simply not long enough - the ends don't meet.

Does anyone have a recommendation for me?

Do you have a poundland nearby? Last year I got some superb reflective bands with incorporated flashing LEDs that I wear round my ankles when cycling at night. They're strong velcro so should also hold your breeches tight.

What's right with them?

Thanks, I'll have a look. Velcro sounds good. Not sure about the LEDs though.

Fair enough. I find them a bit uncomfortable and flimsy.

I've taped two of them together with insulation tape... plenty of length now

Tuck them into your socks?

That's what I do at the moment.
These look OK.

I use these: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/respro/ankle-bands-ec009165

yellow one side, reflective the other, velcro fastening, and slightly stretchy

Can't you just tuck your trousers in your socks?

The Captain Kirks ( trowsers tucked into socks) is a great look but I prefer to pop a couple of elastic bands on each leg instead.
