Some folk can behave weird. One night when walking home along Princes Street, Edinburgh, a bloke ran past me (Allah the Trainspotting scene) then veered in to the side of an almost stationary bus (there was only 3 double deckers, you can see how he missed it ).

For anyone that cycles in Newcastle, they will know Blackett street is terrible for it, everyone thinks the full street is a zebra crossing, its actually easier to ring your bell the full length because of it!

Indeed! I don't have to cycle down there, but I know what you mean.

An old lady once stepped out in front of me in Stafford and - as I swung out to go around her she saw me - and flung out her arms - putting her shopping bag over my hand and handle bar grip and then dug in her heels, fell backwards and pulled me and the bike over on top of her. The old ladies in Stafford may be deaf but by God they're tough. (Did I mention that I was on a 250cc motorbike at the time?

In London, people do this regardless of vehicle.

The best is the old ladies who decide to walk out, fully aware you (and 60 tonne lorry!) are there, but wave at you as if you say "You can wait!".

You kind of have to respect that sort of audacity in a way.

A battleaxe of a lecturer looked me in the eye, and stepped right out in front of me when I was cycling up a hill on campus once, as a student.

Sorry to say I cycled into her, but she left me no option. I expect she took more care after that.
