I’m sure it was filmed in what was Yugoslavia, but not sure which country it would be now.

I read at the time that the rights to Monkey, were obtained by a Uk TV producer working in the east who tried to sell the idea to the BBC who said they couldn't do it, so it ended up being made by Japanese TV. Trivia: The actor who voiced Pigsy played Del & Rodneys absent father in OFAH.
