I always considered 6 hours sleep per night as pretty much optimal for me, even weekends I found myself wandering around the house like a ghost around 5am watching hardtalk. Now I've recently started working from home and all of a sudden I can sleep 8 hours easy and can lie in on a Sunday if there's nothing doing. I haven't worked out yet if that means I'm getting old, or I've dropped a load of stress, but either way, I feel the better for it.
