Was due to go for ride tomorrow morning into roads around Hathersage, Castleton etc. forecast is rain, sleet ice and snow am I wrong to err on the cautious side and cancel ride.

Be sensible, cancel your ride.

As above. If you are unsure then cancel. Better safe than sorry. DAMHIK.

Wait till tomorrow then make your decision.
Given the fact I saw 4 seasons today from my workshop window IMHO the weather at the moment is extremely changeable. I'd, personally, cancel. But then I am being a little extra cautious at the moment.

Thanks for replies guys. Think I will be erring on the side of sanity. Would rather miss one ride rather than risk getting hurt and missing a few more.

Looks like I will be hitting turbo.

Cancel the ride.

Go and play golf!

My ride today was rather pleasant, though that cold stiff breeze wasn't nice. The forecast where I am was for the rain to arrive around two this afternoon, in fact it arrived about four, all I had to contend with whilst I was out was a bit of spitting in the wind. I wouldn't be to hasty in cancelling a ride.

Hathersage, Castleton, Hope Valley and Edale are all places I remember from my youth. A beautiful part of the country, but not somewhere I would want to be out cycling in sleet ice and snow.

Can you go on Saturday? Weather is supposed to be better. here tomorrow (only live a bit further north of there)

The snow is pretty heavy here at the moment (live on a hill) but guarantee there will be no snow down in the valley where I work, the boss doesn't seem to understand how altitude effects snowfall and will expect me in at work. Should be fun ride in! Not going to bother with the bus as it will be slower/the traffic will be terrible closer to town.
