The question that occured to me from reading stuff on here was , am I overdue for an accident? Not that it would stop me cycling, just one of those morbid morning thoughts that come up occasionally

fossyant said:Depends upon your riding. If you push it, i.e. blast about, taking corners and decending like a looney, then that increases the possibilities. If you commute in busy traffic, then that's even more. If you just pootle about, then you are much less likely to come off.

Totally my fault though - I was kinda changing a tape on my walkman with both hands when my front wheel hit the curb. My feet were strapped in too, which made the following trip over the handlebars quite painful. Luckily my face and elbow broke the fall.
