On my doctor`s advice I started a low-fat diet on Dec 17th, weighting myself today I`ve lost one stone. I feel fine, though not been out cycling for two weeks now.

I like the Avatar  It all depends on how overweight you were to start with. When I started losing weight 2 years ago i was 4 stone overweight and lost a hell of a lot in the first month but then it slows down.

Link here to my weekly weightloss over the first year if your interested. My link

Give me your diet....PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAze

I lost 16kgs in 18 months, now I'm stuck at 90kgs and can't seem to lose any.

In my defense, the weather here has been crap and not been getting the excersize, and eating too much over Christmas. The weather has now improved and I'm getting out more and have shed 0.5kg this past week.

I was just two stone overweight at thirteen & half, but the main reason I`ve started this low-fat diet was because I have gallstones, I thought I knew what pain was until I got gallstones! I`m waiting for the operation to have them removed.

If you were only 2 stone overweight I would be a bit wary of a diet that lost a stone as fast as that. Have a word with your doc or nurse, Good Luck with the operation..

It's probably too fast overall, but not for the initial loss. When was 20 stone and first started dieting, on 1-1.5k cals a day and no exercise, I lost like 8-9lbs in the first week (I guess alot was water) and a stone and a half in the first month. It levelled off to a steady 2lbs a week though after that - which I think is generally regarded as what you don't want to go over for any length of time.

Saw my Doctor during the week for a E.C.G and that was fine, asked about my weight lost and he`s happy with that and said my weight should now start to level off, and I`ve not lost anymore this week so guess he`s right.

I gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks over Xmas, last week I put myself in the zone, I lost 9.5 pounds, in a week, so I wouldn't worry, I dont expect to lose more than 2 pounds this week after such a loss, as the doc says, the body find a level that its ok with.

If you are grossly overweight , the body will shift the bulk excess fairly quickly. I was , according to the BMI obblocks, 45Kg overweight. If i tried to get to 85Kg i would look like an anorexic.

I lost 15Kg in just over 3 months, and have now reached a better gradual loss of about 0.5Kg a week.
