I've done a few race for lifes and cried every time. People running with the names of those they've lost on their back? You must be pretty harsh not to have any sympathy for them?

I also get emotional at sporting events. Went to see my friend do the marathon this year and found it hugely moving even if people weren't running for charity. There's something about pitting yourself against a challenge and meeting that challenge that is inherantly moving, I think.

Would you describe yourself as a person, Simon?

It's the concept of "fun" that's causing the problem here isn't it?

Not really. I give the same amount to charity every month via direct debit regardless of how much other people might run or cycle. If I'm ever hard up I'll cancel the direct debits. My charity donations are related to my income, not to stunts done by other people.

If more people did as I do there's be no need for all these sponsored events. People could then run purely for fun, with no financial aspect at all.

Well you're my hero. What an upstanding person you really are!

You don't know what these people do and give by this much hallowed way of direct debit you keep banging on about also.

People were running on Sunday for the reason of raising awareness and money for a chosen charity and no doubt were sponsored by people they knew personally who had probably watched them suffer their loss and were happy to sponsor them.

They weren't running with buckets accosting people for cash!

You're obviously also not got the ability to read properly as I was not mentioning in my original post the moral do's and don'ts of raising money to charity. I was mearly pointing out that it was emotional!

It's not worth bothering Greedo.

No it's not really. There can be no good reason why some people only give to charity if others perform some pointless task.

You still obviously can't read and understand what I was saying. You really are a bit of a t*t are you not?
