I don't know if it's just my perception, but in the last year I have the feeling that I'm not really progressing and I'm always feeling tired.
For example this weekend I didn't do anything because I was dead. This morning I commuted and it was like I never rested (the return was almost the same).
I commute 4 days a week for a total of around 12 miles per day. Normally I try to do a Saturday ride for another 30/40 miles, but recently I'm skipping it too often.
What could it be?

Thanks

Sounds like overtraining to me. Your body needs a rest. If you can, try putting the bike away for a few days then go out again. Hydration is also linked to tiredness but if it really is bothering you, then bite the pride bullet and go see the doc for an MOT.
Keep well.

'The last years riding' infers you're no novice and have some fitness.
12 miles a day and a weekend ride shouldnt leave you feeling like that IMO
Perhaps you're a bit run down, a visit to the docs and explain, he might do some bloods or similar.
Perhaps your nutrition isnt right ? Do you eat well ?

I would have a look at what you eat and drink and maybe think about having a complete rest for a week or so where you do nothing at all.
If you still feel the same then speak to your Dr.

A year is a long time for things to be generally on the go slow- if you can't pin point it on something specific I'd see a Dr, could be your thyroid playing up or similar and the sooner you can rule out your body the better.

Change of diet worked well for me, but I would suggest if you are feeling tired and not just lazy then a trip to the doc will do no harm. Remember to take hand gel with you.

I have slept badly all my life, 3 weeks ago I dropped sugar and sugary things, I have been sleeping better since.

Am doing the same but really want to drop caffeine, but too afraid of the withdrawal effects. Apparently it's not a nice withdrawal. I drink about 10-12 cups of coffee a day, some with sugar some without.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
check your vitamin d intake .
Over the last year i have felt gradually more fatigued, stomach cramps ,aches and pains .
Went to the doctors for blood tests and it turns out i was deficient.
The doctor advised dietary changes that should get me back on track , if in doubt see a health professional as it could be something simple or something that needs checking.

This. Do this first.

If you get the all-clear, then I've no idea.....although your mileage is very low for over-training to be a factor.
