pleased with my ride today, I'm staying at 40 milers at the mo in training for the 50 mile sevenoaks ride. Anyway did a ride last week and the first 20 miles my average was 19.9 and overall finished 19.2. And today on a very hilly route managed my best too, 17.8 again 40 miles. so hopefully going faster on the hills should push the other route to my target of an average of 20mph. But my back started to ache near the end maybe pushing too hard.xx(

Good effort mate!

I've managed to get a consistent 20mph on my ride into Canterbury from Sittingbourne and then my ride home (often a 35 miler) I can keep up to just over 19mph.

I'm hoping to do my first century ride on 19th July (Guilford) and then play at the Sevenoaks ride in September.

was going to say my Avg MPH is jsut up over 15 MPH over 30 miles, and for some reason its 14 MPH over 15 miles the further i go the better my MPH and I have no reason why lol.

Well done. But with respect, a 20mph average probbaly doesn't belong in Beginners Simon! ;)

He is doing it to taunt us Mort! Its psychological trash talk building up for September. My average for that distance is only 16 - 16.5mph, although am doing the 140k 'grown up' version of the september ride!;)

You get nicely warmed up in the first 15 miles and them you can go hell for leather.
