I love really awkward comedies like The Office (UK version), Curb your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development and The Thick of It. At the moment I'm enjoyng Gavin and Stacy a lot too, as it's quite a gentle comedy. My top two will always be The Thick of It (for the top quality swearing) and Arrested Development (for the absurdity) though.

Somebody's mentioned Drop The Dead Donkey which was absolutely brilliant and worth watching for the psychopathic Joy alone. I wonder, though, if it will date because it was so news related?
