No worries, see it often. On balance, given your requirements and the fact you do want to tour, with everything that that entails, I'd think "the other place" might be the way to go.

@Peter Richardson Seems to ride well for the price and spec, I'm a SRAM fan so the brifters are good

Need to get used to the fat tyres as other bike have rather thinner slicks

The bars are too wide for me, so might get them and the tape changed in 6 weeks

I've not had mudguards fitted but the chap in Cycle Republic reckoned SKS chromoplastics would fit

Bartape a bit thin but I'm used to lizardskins

There are few left apparently so don't dilly dally too long. I got £60 of free stuff and £40 off. No further discount with BC on top

According to this thread yes, but I think the bike would look quite odd, 32s would suit it better IMO...but ymmv

Getting Edi Bike Co-op to fit the SKS P50 mudguards after seeing various issues bending stays and crap instructions.
They on sale just now too so reduced to £31.49 fitted and they're putting my complete bargain Axiom Transit 60kg rated pannier rack on at the same time.
