For the Genesis Equillibrium Disc 10 what would approximately be the right size to aim for. I'm 6ft 1 inch (187cm) tall with inside leg of 35 inch, so I believe large would be the correct size?

I've the same height and leg measurements as you - Large is what I'd be going for. If you're near a store go in and check for size if you're not sure.

That price is a no brainer... no need for Evans either as EBC are a very well regarded co-operative.
Depends on location, Evans branch might be closer than EBC if wanting to buy in store not online

If close to Horsham and wanting to support an LBS, Freeborn have the Genesis for £875

Size wise, 56 or possibly 58 (I'm a smidge under 5'10 and ride a 54 equilibrium, 56 might have been ok)

@Pale Rider I am still considering that, especially as you say, all the extras included and installed. My only slight hesistation might be the brakes and the wheels.

@vickster I would be a 56, except for my slightly longer legs, 35 inch inside leg. I've tried a 56 Cannondale 105 disc 2016 before and that was on the small side, so 58 tends to be about right. As for location EBS far too far to travel sadly and Horsham more than 60 miles away.

The equillibrium disc 10 has 4130 cro-mo frame and I've seen it used on other brands of bike that are cheaper. I also know the reynolds 725 (equilibrium decade linked above has it) frame is highly thought of, so is there is anything different about the genesis 4130 frame compared to tother 4130 frames and how does it compare to the 725 frame?

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
how does it compare to the 725 frame?
As far as I can tell from searching, the EBC description summarises it well: the main difference is that Reynolds 725 is heat-treated which results in a higher tensile strength, enabling thinner tubing to be used, so presumably lower weight, yet both models are listed by EBC as 10.5kg...

Rims are described with the same model number on the website.

A few more spokes on the bike with rack and mudguards, which I would say is a good thing for rattling across London.

I've noticed there now a category called "Adventure Road". I don't know if this a just a cyclo cross dressed slightly differently or genuinely something different.

Halfords still have a few of the Boardman CX Team 2014 left. They're £540 and Halfords are throwing in £100 of accessories with it at the moment too. I paid almost £700 for mine and thought I got a bargain.

Not found a great solution to fitting a front mudguard yet but the bike is lovely. I had the BB30 problems that others have had but they sorted it out in less than 48 hours. Swap the knobbly off road tyres for something a little thinner, I have 700x28c on it now, and it hums along quite nicely.

Well this is what I use- Specialized Diverge A1 Sport currently £712 at Edinburgh.

It's a example of what they call adventure bikes, I just call it a tougher racer (!). A more upright riding style than a normal roadie, disc brakes, comes with 28'' but can fit 35'' with guards. Has fittings for two bottles, guards and rack and has took me on 30 mile round commute to Croydon nearly every day for a year as well as Ride London 100.

It's not as fast as a roadie but keeps its own, sharp response and Sora's good enough for the Surrey Hills as well as some gravel tracks and commute.

If I had to, I'd buy another one like a shot, although last year's model as (as usual with Specialized) there is a degree of markup with newer models.

I'm about to pick up one of the last ones, with various freebies, discounts and cashback, it'll end up costing around £340 in reality
