Alfine won't fit. Thoughts please

I checked the BBK on the old frame and both are the same at 68 mm. Then fitted my Velosolex spacers as per the diagram and all looks like it will work well. Also the sprocket is reversible which has improved matters further still. Many thanks folks.

Alfine has been working well, but the whole cable was far too long. Shortened it and think I may have gone too far as only getting 7 gears cannot get number 8 and the colours line up in gear two. If I scew the adjuster at the shifter all the way out I get only 6 gears, so I think the outer is too long. Is my logic sound ?
