It is important to unclip the foot on the correct side (blushes). If you lean to the left when you stop but have unclipped on the right that's no use at all.
You only need to release one foot though - release whichever foot you would normally rest on the floor while waiting at lights and leave the other clipped in, poised to propel you to cycling greatness. I only unclip my other foot when I'm getting off my bike.
I always release my left foot first, and only my left foot unless dismounting.
I unclip only at the bottom of the pedal stroke with my leg "locked" straight to protect my knee and ankle.
A slight movement of the heel inwards towards the frame before the outward "flick" helps too.
The SH56 cleats are on eBay for just under £8.00 inc postage.

Not a bad price either though tbh. Compared to Evans and the like.I think the problem will be where i'm used to stopping first before i take my feet off the pedals with using the origanal toe clips.
I'll give that a go. Do you just get quicker at it,ie emergency stop?
I already purchased them today, popped the OH to Asda, which happens to be almost next door to (dare i say it) Halfords, last pair in stock but at an extortionate £11.80, bought them anyway out of sheer desperation i think lol.
Did mean to try them when i got back. Fitted them to the shoes was as far as i got as other things cropped up like 'decorating' lol..... It's easier on the ears. Just need to refit the pedals as soon as.

If you got a full refund you did not buy at all never mind twice. Aldi are always good with refunds if you keep receipt. My Aldi bike shoes failed after 9 months, the cleat fixing plate began to pull out of the sole at the front. I still had the receipt and my local store gave me a full refund, which is more than I was expecting. I have used them for commuting throughout the winter though. Buy cheap buy twice...
me issue i had , i should have kept my receipt !My Aldi bike shoes failed after 9 months, the cleat fixing plate began to pull out of the sole at the front. My fiancé and I managed to get a refund on both our pairs that broke, we'd had them 5/6 months so had lost the receipt, but we spoke to the manager told him when we bought them and he looked up the transaction on their system and fully refunded us. If you goods are faulty you have as much right to a refund as someone with a receipt. My aldi shoes lasted 2 x 30 mile rides
Like above the plate started to come away from the shoe. Have literally just taken delivery of some DHB m1.0s. Only £40 at wiggle but seem better built
Wish I still had the receipt![]()
