We listen to heaps, almost exclusively, modern pop, pop dance, scandi pop, etc, and there are some fantastic lyrics to relate to, even in our advanced years.

One thing that has happened though is that the fizzy upbeat naivety of 60's & 70's pop has been replaced by reflections on failed relationships. Maybe a sign of the times to quote Harry Styles.

Err, I'm pretty sure failed relationships have been a staple of pop since the beginning. Half of Motown is heartbreak!

As for the OP question, Weather Report - Heavy Weather is the most recent I've gone back to, though in reality it was my dad's vinyl originally. It's still absolutely incredible, and the parts of it that I thought got overplayed and lost something were refreshed after all those years.

Now I want to listen to Weather Report! An astounding bunch of musicians. That's this evenings music sorted whilst drawing up boat planning stuff.

Santana, Moonflower, genius then and genius now.

Great album, the live versions of ā€œSheā€™s not thereā€œ and ā€œLet the children playā€ - awesome

Iā€™m fortunate that Iā€™ve seen Santana live twice (10 years apart) Royal Albert Hall and The Hammersmith Odeon, Iā€™m still a mega fan!

Every track on the album is perfect I think @Gunk stunning musical talent. I've saw them years ago. I saw a Santana tribute band last month too, they had a good stab at it but nowhere near the real thing.

I dispute that. Carnaval is about two minutes too short, it fades out just as the keys player is getting going! This has annoyed me for forty years.
