As long as I breathe, I attack.
What were they, the Incredible Hulk?
Nah, Sagan i know because my bike was nearly parked on a car roof .....

An Airzound is far too loud for peds. If you want to go out of your way to pee off people on shared paths then yes get one.
A bell is suffice.

Not always.

The biggest myth about AirZounds is that they are loud, that is not the case, it is possible to deliver a small quiet "blip" along to the full blast.

However it does have a place, and watching people dance the Funky Pedestrian is fun.
T'other evening on the Christiania, group of young lads blocking the path...

Ring bell - Nothing.
"Excuse Me" - Nothing
Louder "Can I come Past" - One individual stands in the middle with arms out and replies "Please go away" (4,3)

Utilise AirZound, he does a "rabit in the headlights" and dives across out of the way, and I pass on my merry way with a polite "thank you", and the cheers of his mates who tought it incredibly funny

I have a bell on my MTB as I use a lot of shared pathways and towpaths.
It's fine, although I do have to shout really loud if people have earphones in, usually once I'm almost on top of them!
They usually jump a bit and sometimes swear, but I do give them notice at least twice before I shout

A bell is perfectly adequate for your needs.

Airzounds are nobber alarms.

Yep - they certainly do alarm the nobbers, especially those in cars who are not paying attention!

Many is the time that it has prevented a left hook or pull out from a junction.

The answer is to use sensibly

They are wonderful for drawing attention, sothat if the worst happens there are people looking in your direction as witnesses

I have found mine useful while cycling around Westminster and Parliament Sq with loads of tourists out on the road taking pics of Big Ben and jay walking, while I'm flying trying to beat the lights and avoiding the black taxis.

She couldn't find one:rolleyes:
Halfords sell them , I know as I honk it every time I go in there , the staff love me for it :B)
I refitted the bell on my road bike as I don't like shouting at people ( mainly female dog walkers ) and spooking them .
The first time I got to use it was today as my best mate was walking towards the allotment with his little girl as I was going home from there . I started dinging my bell as soon as I saw him and he stood in my way holding out his hand with his little girl next to him so I started shouting ( lycra lout style ) they need to get out of my way . I stopped for a chat and for no reason glanced to my left . It was then that I saw the whole of Hanworth football club players and supporters watching the goings on from the car park
