Airzounds.....are they confrontational?

On my commute I ride across a narrow mile long pedestrian/cycle path bridge and pedestrians get in the cycle path bit a lot...... (especially in the dark)

If I shout "excuse me" from behind they think I'm another ped and still dither about in my way. A bell (on the old bike) worked a bit but most have got head phones and still can't hear bell.

So my question is would I get a round of effs off peds if I bought an Airzound and used it.... does anyone use one a lot on cyclepaths......Not to bothered about drivers I am happy to shout/mutter (depending severity of problem) obscenities at them.

I might go for another bell or perhaps a bulb horn for a laugh but was thinking about an airzound though

An Airzound is far too loud for peds. If you want to go out of your way to pee off people on shared paths then yes get one.
A bell is suffice.

I stopped using mine as I got tired of the lack of mounting options on my road bike. I wanted to still be able to use my drops.
In fairness I found it useful. People seems to have a natural knack to move away from loud noises.
Never used it on peds though. Shouting seems to do the trick.

Not a fan of impersonal horns & bells, I tend to say hello or excuse me and then tell people which side I'm approaching and planning to overtake them on. Not had a problem & I always go at a pace that gives them chance to respond before getting to them.
