I have never watched the film that closely but I now suspect there are quite a few of those types of moments that you may miss until pointed out.

Airplane2 was great too, loads of Sci Fi gags.

I can't remember which, but is this the one with the three pilots called Over, Under & Done (Dunn?) with the 'I was Over Done, but Under Over' etc scene??

Also Lloyd Bridges going on about its a bad day to give up booze/fags/coke/glue sniffing??.

I want to rewatch them now.....

Plus, I quite enjoyed 'Top Secret', which was their war/spy spoof:
