I won't be mourning him. God gave him enormous talent, which he transformed into ClassA drugs (and a likely early death). He cheated on the world's biggest stage, in a match that his talent would have won for him anyway - the evidence is there on film for all to see.

Football is an important part of many peoples' lives. And in the case of Maradona, if you're English or Argentine, there is the backdrop of the Falklands War.

It's why Messi will never get the same adulation in his home country that Maradona does.
