Fast and careful!
I had a bout of af mid April and as fast as it came it went, if you worry to much about it some times you can talk your self into believing there is a problem,i know this as I did it and then you get anxious, its been a hard few weeks for me anger, hatred ,nervous, all things i felt,i now know more about my self than I've ever done before,I've been discharged from the cardiac dept ,and was treated with apaxiban and amiodrine, i was booked in to have my cardio version yesterday but they can't treat it if you aint in it ,been back in the saddle 2 weeks,I'm building my rides back up,and as i say I've had a major mot now and every thing is good ,blood tests for every thing heart scans the lot ,

I think your right, we can make it worse for ourselves.

I've had it bad in the past and had it now for a couple of years, stopped drinking much and have less coffee and as bad now as ever. Also have Graves' disease and under activate thyroid so other issues may have an impact. I've a history of heart disease in the family and high blood pressure so probably best to get it checked out

I'm at the hospital in a couple of weeks so fingers crossed everything is good

Been to see the cardiologist

Took me off beta blockers as they are slowing me down so much it's unbelievable, my heart rate after walking round the hospital was only 53bpm, and I'm 17 1/2 stone!

Put me on another med for AF, one for high blood pressure and aspirin as a coagulant as he said wharferin is risky for someone who cycles so much in case they fall, if I was high risk he would do it but for now just aspirin, I've been on wharferin before so glad I'm not back on it

Failing that cardio aversion if that's the right thing to call it? He said I can go and get that now but wasn't expecting it so need to think about it

I'm surprised by the doctor not giving you wharfrin as you cycle ,there is a reversal ,I cycled and took apaxaban 21st century wharfrin with no antidote ,the risk of stroke is classed higher than a bike fall !i only had to take it for a few months in the next but wore a Wrist ID tag

He considered it but then said take an aspirin a day, he prescribed them, meaning five different tablets a day!
Did they say why they took you off it?

I got better though they have just done a 48'hour trace ,it can be a life choice you can insist on taking apaxaban ,I think it depends on budgets as well ,my risk now is zero ,woman get 5 percent for their gender on the scale, apaxiban does cost a lot compared to a lot of drugs ,but my friend is a gp and she says it is the wonder drug
