Advice please changing from 11-25 to 11-32 cassette

Hi all, I am seeking advice please. I have change the rear cassette on my Specialized Secteur Sport from a 9 speed 11-25 to 11-32 cassette but found the jockey wheel riding on the largest of the last two gears. To avoid this would I need to change the rear mech drop hanger, have a longer chain, change the rear mech or all three? I did fit an 11-28 cassette to try and the jockey wheel just cleared, and on the climbs gave me a good level of sustainable cadence, but I would like to be able to fit the 11-32 to give me that extra level on hills.

Try adjusting the B tension screw, that may give you enough clearance -

If it does not, do not ride the bike like that as it will wreck your gear mech and possibly the wheel. You'll need either a smaller sprocket or a longer cage mech.

There is a screw that moves the body of the RD away from the cogs its called the B-post screw and adjusts against the hanger, so as you look at the RD from chain side its the the left upper of the RD, as you screw this in it will push the RD away loosen it and it moves the RD back towards the cogs.
However it is likely the chain is too short, to fit a new chain without a reference, wrap round both front & rear large cogs and give one extra link ( a link being two pieces)
What RD is it and some one will tell you if you need to change it.

Thank you for the video, very useful, I think a 11-28 cassette is the limit after adjusting the 'B' screw a little with the current rear mech, my cycle buddy rides with a 11=32 cassette I should look at his set-up
Thank you again cyclobud67

It can be done but you'd be best changing to a long cage rear mech and (without seeing it) lengthening the chain slightly
Thank you, I will take a photo of my current set-up, the rear mech is a Tiagra, the cage looks quite long. I will sort out a photo first.

Thank for the advice, I have tried adjusting the 'B' screw on the current 11-28 cassette fitted, I will take photos of the set-up an opinion. The rear mech is a Tiagra.

Change the rear mech to a medium cage. Short cage will only take up to 28t, medium up to 32t, long 32+.
I made same change a couple of years ago. You will also need to fit a new slightly longer chain. Once fitted, index the new mech and away you go.

Spinners are winners....

Thank you for the info, I will look into rear mechs with either a medium or long cage and check them against what I have at the moment + I do need a new chain anyway. Every bit of advice and info is appreciated.
