Every time you issue a cheque or use a credit card you give your bank details out. I don't see the problem with BT.

Honestly I've used PayPal hundreds of times and never had a problem. There are risks with all forms of payment. I sold a second hand car for cash a few years ago and some of the notes were no longer current currency. Bank transfers are fine but I'm sure there is yet again one way or another to rob someone. You would never buy and sell anything if you worried to that degree.
