Advice on mixing 9 & 10 Speed road parts please from UK cyclists

If the mech hanger is bent then then you will NEVER get the shifting to work properly. Did this get checked at the LBS?
I can confirm that the 9 speed Sora chainset will work fine with the rest of a 10 speed gear system

This is really helpful. The NEVER and also 9 speed with 10 speed - VERY helpful.

Unless you know about these things you don't realise how much a silly bit of metal contributes to the whole set up.

It didn't as it was signed off as checked by their "mechanics". But you are right - Pro Bike Kit seem to be unheard of - my bike mechanic had never heard of them either - even though they are quite a well established online retailer.

They are owned by an "umbrella" group in the same way that Homebase, Argos etc are.

Unfortunately that umbrella group is a company called "The Hut Group". I knew this before I bought. Crossed my fingers that they may be better. LOL - I have been kicking myself ever since!

The Hut group are basically God awful drop shippers - masquerading as legitimate and professional UK companies. You have been warned!!
