adventure bikes - whats the difference?

As someone quite keen on an adventure bike, I prefer the term 'niche marketing'.

In today's market, the phrase 'there's a bike for every ride' has never been more apposite.

I reckon it their way of admitting that most bikes should be able to take a mudguard..

That's certainly true. Even for rides we haven't determined a name for yet!

It's a way to get a lot of middle-aged men to buy something they don't really need... it puts a steely glint in their eyes.. 'adventure!!'

And it works, 'cos I bought one!!
