Looks to me as though all the advice is covered but I'd add one small suggestion.
When I first moved to SPD I found it difficult to get my foot position spot on. This really only becomes apparent during a ride. Before setting off I marked the cleat position on each shoe and took the relevant Allen key with me. When I felt discomfort I'd stop, make a very slight adjustment to the cleat and carry on. Over a short period and a number of rides I established the perfect foot position for me - which is different for each foot!!
