Action Cam - (Go Pro Type) cameras recommendations

For our upcoming action holiday and for recording my cycling adventures I am thinking of buying an Action Camera. I have looked on the GoPro site and visited the GoPro Forum but am a bit disappointed with the forum members discussing problems with their Gopro and considering other makes I.e Akaso and DJI Osmo action to name a couple.
Never owning one of these type of camera how do you get on with your action cameras? I will be needing a window mount too for the holiday.
GoPro seems expensive compared to others I suppose it’s a market leader?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I've been using the "sj4000wifi" for a while very good during the day, night time not so good, but it works for me, but be aware that there are copies of "this" camera too so make sure it is a "sj4000wifi". You can get waterproof case for it also on ebay
