I bought a 99p ping bell for use on the commute when on the walking cycle path.

It came with an integrally moulded zip tie type fitting... The second ping saw it fly of and bounce of the edge of a viaduct :-(

But of a shame really as it was a nicely designed, had a good ring but the choice of plastic was craps, too brittle and not soft enough.

Cateye TL-570 'automatic' rear blinky.

Got one of these out of the LBS bargain bucket. Supposed to turn on automatically if it senses movement and it's dark enough. In reality the thing just stays on all the time no matter what. Sometimes when it senses movement it starts flashing but it never goes out, even in the brightest sunlight.

My disappointment is completely out of proportion to the cash I wasted on it. I'm going to smash it to bits with a chain whip shortly.

Purely as it doesn't match the bar tape but has anyone got a pink furry seat cover?

Did you ever try riding with those Ever Ready glow worms, Jeez and the batteries  cost a fortune and lasted all of about 5 hours. :cursing:

Mind you I had to nick my mums bike to use dynamo lighting back then, pretty much the same as I had though, just had a Mixte frame (Triumph 'Palm Beach' )

Just had a wheel built with a modern Shimano one but those old SA hubs were fantastic the light was so brilliant, much brighter once you were clogging on and needed it. :becool:
Yep the mates did laugh a bit at me riding a girlies bike but when we were coming back from the pub guess who they were following down the back (and black)country lanes.
