I bought a 99p ping bell for use on the commute when on the walking cycle path.

Did you ever try riding with those Ever Ready glow worms, Jeez and the batteries cost a fortune and lasted all of about 5 hours.
Mind you I had to nick my mums bike to use dynamo lighting back then, pretty much the same as I had though, just had a Mixte frame (Triumph 'Palm Beach' )
Just had a wheel built with a modern Shimano one but those old SA hubs were fantastic the light was so brilliant, much brighter once you were clogging on and needed it.Never tried them thankfully
